Well it’s been a busy wee while for me here recently.
Amongst the usual mixing duties I’ve been tracking guitars and vocals with my singer for my bands new material. I’m also moving home with my family to a bigger place.
Moving mean’s a studio overhaul. I’m just sorting out the placement of gear and acoustic treatment for my new studio space.
I didn’t have enough space previously for all my gear, the new studio will allow me to have all my amp’s, cabinets and guitars setup permanently which is nice.
It’s gonna be a fun job at least setting everything out exactly how I want.
Since I do mastering as well as mixing I need to get the room treated as best I can.
Bass traps will be essential along with the usual acoustic tiles and good isolation for my monitors. I’m purchasing the Isoacoustics monitor stands as they have great reviews and from the demo’s I have seen / heard they are very effective.
A new workspace (desk) and I’ll throw in a sofa for some seating. Exciting times and I’m looking forward to it. I’ll probably blog the resulting room with photo’s when I’m done.
